Get Excited for These New Shows This Season Published on September 21, 2016 It’s finally beginning to cool off but primetime television is heating up! Since you will probably be spending more time indoors during the fall and winter months, Bob Brown Service Experts Heating & Air is here with the shows that we’re looking forward to this season. So get ready to curl up with a fuzzy blanket and a cup of apple cider while you nestle in for a TV-packed season. Chicago Justice (Sundays on NBC) It all started with our favorite firefighters and EMTs at Firehouse 51. After we met a few police officers and detectives, including not-so-bad Sgt. Hank Voight, Chicago P.D. debuted in the winter of 2014. Last fall, a crew of nurses and doctors in Chicago became the much loved Chicago Med, resulting in exciting crossovers with all our Chicago heroes. Starting in January, the network will add Chicago Justice to the list. We were introduced to a few of the newcomers on Chicago P.D. back in May and this January we’ll get to know the team of attorneys and investigators. Dick Wolf has made quite the production with his Chicago-based shows that intertwine and has the ability to take us from the original crime (usually arson), to the investigation (including the Intelligence Unit ran by Voight), to the survivals and fatalities (shown through our medical team), and now through the final resolution where our new heroes will seek justice. 24: Legacy (Sundays on FOX) When we first heard about 24, we could actually hear the “beep, beep, beep” counting down the seconds and our hearts leapt at the notion of Jack Bauer coming back into our lives. Yet, as the preview says, it is a new day and we have a new hero. Kiefer Sutherland plans to be an executive producer for the premiere, but our new hero is Eric Carter, depicted by Corey Hawkins, a military hero returning to the U.S. with trouble right behind him. He comes to CTU (yes, it’s back!) for help protecting himself, while of course stopping a terrorist attack. The update of an old favorite will abide by the same 24 hour, one hour = one episode, format as before so we are hoping we can look forward to the epic countdowns each commercial break. Designated Survivor (Wednesdays on ABC) Just when the devastation sinks in because you won’t be seeing the original Bauer in the 24 reboot, your hopes are returned because he’s going to be on a new show and now, instead of protecting the president, he is the president. In the new ABC show Designated Survivor, Kiefer Sutherland depicts Tom Kirkman, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, who becomes the President of the United States after an explosion kills everyone in front of him in the Presidential line of succession. He’s back, baby! This Is Us (Tuesdays on ABC) If you loved Parenthood, analysts say this show is for you. This Is Us revolves around a group of people who are associated by the fact that they share the same birthday. Rebecca (depicted by Mandy Moore) and Jack (played by Milo Ventimiglia) are a couple getting ready to have three babies on Jack’s 36th birthday. Randall (depicted by Sterling K. Brown who just received an Emmy for his depiction of Christopher Darden in The People v O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story) is a man celebrating his 36th birthday trying to decide whether or not he should meet his father who abandoned him when he was born. Kate (played by Chrissy Metz) and Kevin (portrayed by Justin Hartley) are twins who are spending their 36th birthday wrestling with their unsatisfied lives, with Kate focusing on changing her eating habits and Kevin dissatisfied with his current job.
