Painting Vans Pink in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

September 27, 2016

In October 2016, two Service Experts centers will be turning heads with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are each painting two of their service vans pink for the fight against breast cancer.

Throughout the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be donating 20% of all sales from their pink vans to Summit-based Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help end breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be giving 5% of all sales from their pink vans in addition to giving $10 for every heating tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second time Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted two of their vans pink to raise funds for this great cause. In 2015, Fras-Air donated over $7,000 to Komen North Jersey. David Schneider, the general manager and one of his workers both lost their mothers to different forms of cancer and were moved to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute reported that 107,184 women in New Jersey faced breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider said. “While the amount of cases is actually going down each year, that still constitutes a significant number of families who are grappling with this disease, and that means there’s an immediate need for research and support.”

The General Manager of Service Experts of Raleigh, Chris Overton, echoed Schneider’s thoughts. “As stated by the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the leading type of cancer in our state – for men and women.”
