The NATE-Certification Advantage

March 20, 2018

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning proudly sends NATE-Certified technicians into customers’ homes throughout North America every day. While this notation of being Nate-Certified definitely sounds reaffirming, what does it truly mean?

NATE, an abbreviation for North American Technician Excellence, is the nation’s largest non-profit certification organization for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration technicians. NATE is the certification organization that was established by and has been supported by the entire HVACR industry for close to 20 years. Although, not all technicians in the business are required to be NATE-Certified. The certification is elective and technicians can service heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment without the accreditation.

It’s a priority for Service Experts that our team is NATE-Certified to make sure we are placing the most experienced technicians into our customers’ homes. To make sure technicians meet these qualifications, the NATE-Certification exams verify real-world working knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems for technicians. The assessments are knowledge-based exams that evaluate the technician’s understanding of these guidelines.

Considering Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning focuses largely on the HVAC side of NATE-Certification, our technicians earn their designations in these areas. However, NATE assessment candidates may earn certification in multiple areas:

  • Air Conditioning
  • Air Distribution
  • Gas Heating
  • Oil Heating
  • Heat Pumps
  • Hydronic Gas (service only)
  • Hydronics Oil (service only)
  • Light Commercial Refrigeration (service only)
  • Commercial Refrigeration (service only)
